The left coast has come correct to celebrate Dilla season, paying their respects through creating music inspired by the spirit of the late great producer and his legendary catalog.
Portland’s Cool Nutz has linked with Detroit’s own Slum Village and Oakland-based producer TOPE to give the remix treatment to “Best & Worst,” which is set to appear on his upcoming album N.P.Y. (Never Play Yaself) LP, due out February 23.
Cool Nutz joined Slum Village on the road for a good chunk of 2015, and “Best & Worst” is an ode fitting of their time spent together and its polish would find the Slum founder himself feeling proud. Still shining.
