Rhymefest‘s working relationship with Kanye West spans over a decade, dating back to Ye’s first album. From the Grammy Award-winning “Jesus Walks” off of College Dropout to “New Slaves” from his penultimate project Yeezus, Rhymefest imprint on Kanye’s career has been consistent. With Ye’s latest album The Life of Pablo finally released Rhymefest has recently taken to Twitter to explain why he didn’t contribute on the album, and why he’s disbanded from the G.O.O.D. Music collective in general. He believes that Kanye’s antics as of late are indicative of a more serious problem. “My brother needs help, in the form of counseling,” Rhymefest told a fan on Friday. “He should step away from the public & yesmen & heal.”

‘Ye has been more interactive on social media as the release of T.L.O.P. and the concurrent reveal of his Yeezy Season 3 clothing line neared. While in years past his Twitter is largely unused, some could argue his tweets have appeared a bit manic in nature (see his bizzare back and forth with Wiz Khalifa) . It’s hard to tell if Kanye’s antics as of late has been a result of anxiety surrounding his new projects, if is actually off his rocker as Rhymefest suggests, or if it’s just Kanye being Kanye.
