Since Young Thug‘s breakthrough year in 2014, he’s been one of, if not the most controversial artists in Hip Hop. From his intriguing relationships with Birdman and Lil Wayne, to his attire and sometimes-garbled delivery, whether or not Thug has new music out, he’s the topic of conversation, especially on social media.
GQ spent time with Thug in his hometown of Atlanta, but for a portion of their time together, they hit a studio and shot Thug as he slow-read the lyrics to one of his recent hits, “Best Friend,” on which Thugger raps–you guessed it–pretty fast.
