SBTV is growing in stature and magnitude by the day, fronted by head honcho Jamal Edwards (who gave The Source an insightful interview last week). Jamal made clear his aspirations to take SBTV international and appeal to a much larger audience than in Britain solely.

What better way to do that than host a stage at one of the largest, grandest and full-scale festivals of the year? That’s right, SBTV is hosting a stage at SXSW 2016 in Austin, TX.

The stage is predominantly Grime heavy, with Stormzy, Section Boyz (straight from their groundbreaking set with Drake last night), Shakka, Frisco, Blakie, Mumdance and Iglooghost headlining the stage with great anticipation.

Jamal had this to say about the monumental achievement: ”SBTV has always spotlighted great British talent, so it is fitting that we are the music platform who will be representing the best emerging artists from the UK this year. The great thing about British music is its variety and as SBTV is a channel that supports great music regardless of its genre. Our line-up reflects Britain’s diverse music scene. With high profile US acts and media paying UK music a lot of attention at the moment it’s more important now than ever to have a carefully curated SXSW showcase exclusively spotlighting UK music.”

SBTV, which celebrates its 10th year anniversary this year, has evolved to become the most enduring youth focused networks and continually challenges to break the norm and do things differently.

Expect the stage to go off like a fire in the booth on Wednesday March 16, with attendance available to all who have purchased festival music badge holders.
