Last month, Mannie Fresh announced a joint album with Juvenile and Lil Wayne during an excitable interview at which Juvie was present, after teasing pictures of studio sessions with both rappers over the holidays. It would be the first time that former Cash Money Records artist and producer Mannie Fresh would be working with Weezy and Juvenile since their days as one half of the Hot Boys. A release date for the project wasn’t announced or teased, but judging by the aforementioned Instagram pictures, it seemed like things were already in motion.

Today, Mannie Fresh has dropped the first result of those sessions, featuring Juvenile and Wayne, and an outro from Cash Money head honcho Birdman. The song, “Hate,” features the vintage bounce we’re accustomed to hearing from Fresh when he gets down with his N.O.L.A. peers, and a vintage sing-songy hook from Juvenile. All three artists sound as if they haven’t missed a beat, despite the fact it’s been several years since the three of them have done significant work together. It also looks like Fresh will be dropping the joint album on Mass Appeal Records, and he had this to say about the release of “Hate,” “I’ve put a lot of effort into making this track happen. I’ve always been the liaison between these guys, they took my word and put their trust in me in bringing everyone together for this hot track. You definitely can expect more from this project I’m about to drop with Mass Appeal Records. This is just the foreplay, you can expect the eargasm later.”
