An off duty NYPD officer was killed by a hit and run driver, according to police.
25 year old Vincent Harrison struck by a driver on the NJ Turnpike at 3 a.m. between Exit 13 and 14A in Elizabeth. A Chevy Cruise and a Ford Escape were traveling southbound. The Cruise then changed lanes and was struck by the Ford. Both cars then stopped after the accident.
Harrison got out of his car and was hit by an Infiniti that was attempting to drive in between the two vehicles.

Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti fled the scene of the accident.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
