Joey Bada$$ and Troy Ave‘s bubbling social media feud from 2015 boiled over into full-blown beef over the weekend when Troy Ave released “Bad Ass,” a direct diss track aimed at the Pro Era rapper. Last week, Joey released a Statik Selektah-produced record called “Ready,” in which he boasted “My n***a Kirk [Knight] just outsold Troy Ave!,” a likely expansion on his refuting of Ave’s 2015 claims that his label, BSB, was the top independent label in rap. At the time, Ave responded to Joey with a Twitter rant, calling Bada$$ “fake independent,” but this time around, he’s resorted to sending shots on wax. In addition to the song, which was released late on Monday, Troy Ave went on Sway In The Morning to talk more in depth about the shots he took at both Joey and Capital STEEZ, the promising Pro Era emcee that committed suicide in 2012, calling the late Brooklyn-born rapper a “bozo” for taking his own life.

The shots were heard all through Hip Hop, and even the Sway In The Morning crew tried to guide Ave away from expounding the personal shots he was taking at one point during his rant. Meanwhile, all of social media is calling for Joey to respond in kind with a diss track, but for now, he’s pulling up old Troy Ave tweets to remind the public that the “All About The Money” rapper has “been buggin.” He ended his tweet by saying, “no mercy for this man,” so who knows. Those response diss wishes could come true.
