Diss records are nothing new in the world of Hip Hop, with things sometimes going a bit overboard. Such was the case earlier this week when Troy Ave released a diss record aimed at fellow Brooklyn native Joey Bada$$. In it, he made a reference to Joey’s Pro Era brethren Capital STEEZ, who passed away from a suicide back in 2012, saying that he was “burning in hell.”

Troy Ave doubled down on his stance, going on Sway In The Morning the very next day, saying “God gave you life. It ain’t your right to take that.”

Many felt disrespected by the Brooklyn rapper’s comments, one of them being Styles P, who suffered a tragedy of his own back in July of 2015 when his daughter passed away from suicide. Styles P took to his Twitter account and directed some statements to Troy Ave, clarifying that he didn’t take offense to the line in the song, but moreover, his statements while on Sway.

For what it’s worth, Troy Ave graciously replied to Styles P and went on to apologies to his fans if he offended them in any way.
