Nitara Carrlyn Long better known as Nia Long is one of our favorite actresses.
Long has been in the game for over 20 long years (and counting). She’s a three-time NAACP Image Award winner. Her first notable role on the big screen was as Brandi in Boyz N The Hood. Long also co-directed Ashanti’s “Baby” video. Let’s not forget to mention she’s from Brooklyn and is of Caribbean descent (just like yours truly).

5. Sherry Pierce in Big Mama’s House
Long is on the run from her malicious ex boyfriend, Terrence Howard, who’s being released from jail after committing a robbery. She runs to her “big mama” to hideout, but to her surprise big mama is on vacation, and she’s really been staying with Martin Lawrence, an undercover cop. In the sequel, Martin and Long fall in love and have a family together.
