LeBron James‘ kids have been making waves on their individual circuits, and their dad has no problem with the fact that they don’t necessarily look to him for inspiration on everything.

The boys, LeBron James Jr. and Bryce Maximus, aren’t fans of the added attention they receive because they’re the offspring of an all-time great, so they try their best to keep a low profile. (LBJ’s sons are 11 and 8 respectively, imagine having to have that level of awareness at that age.) Apparently, that stretches farther than just ducking from overzealous fans looking for an autograph. Last night, after the Cavs’ 11-point victory over the Jazz, ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin asked LeBron about his sons’ preferences, and he revealed that the athletes behind their current number choices are Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry.

Don’t get riled up though, King James is cool with it. He told McMenamin he loves that his sons “carve their own path.” Something tells us Bryce is going to have to find a new player to be inspired by if Steph beats out LeBron for MVP and the NBA Championship like he did last season though.
