Amado posted a picture of herself on Instagram in costume and said this opportunity was a dream, and she wanted to make Angie proud.

Angie started her career at the tender age of 16 as HOT 97’s DJ Funk Master Flex‘s protege. Eventually, she mastered the craft and hosted the Afternoon Drive weekdays, where she interviewed some of the biggest names, including Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Tupac. Since then, she has been the reigning “Voice of New York” and continues her notable career at Power 105.

According to a recent interview with People magazine for her upcoming biography, My Voice, Angie detailed the moment where she had to break the news of the West Coast rapper’s death live on-air:

I had to tell the whole city. Mind you, there’s no Twitter, no Instagram … People in New York found out Tupac died from me.

All Eyez On Me comes out on November 11th, 2016.
