DeAndre Jordan is known for being a menace on the court, but not necessarily a prolific trash talker. He’s spent the last couple of seasons destroying Brandon Knight and Greg Monroe with eye-popping dunks, but is known for being a bit of a teddy bear, and almost switched teams last season because Chris Paul reportedly didn’t like him.
Last night, however, Jordan had some choice words for former teammate Lance Stephenson, who spent all of 3-and-a-half months with the Clippers before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies at the trading deadline last month. Stephenson, who apparently partook in a little jawing with the Clippers center prior to being fouled, was about to attempt a free throw when, quite clearly, Jordan could be heard shouting “Make a couple lay-ups, you want to start talking sh*t. Shut your ass up!” at his former teammate.
Safe to say there’s no love lost between these two? To Stephenson’s credit, he did more than make a couple lay-ups, and scored an efficient 12 points on only 5 shot attempts to help the Grizzlies secure a much needed win over the Clippers. The best part is, if the playoffs started today, the Clippers and the Grizzlies would duke it out in a best-of-7 series. Is it April yet?
