At the onset of his career, much of  Tyler The Creator‘s music was anchored by his nonexistent relationship with his father. This sentiment has become a staple within his musical narrative from his first project Bastard to his penultimate album Wolf. In a recent Twitter rant, Tyler admits that he wasn’t exactly tormented about his estranged father when he released Wolf, although it was mentioned throughout the album.

He tweeted:

“I WASNT EVEN SAD ABOUT MY DAD ON WOLF I JUST DID THAT CAUSE I KNEW YALL WOULD EAT IT UP I WAS OVER THAT ON BASTARD HAHAHA IM A S***HEAD.”

Some have said that the lyrics could have been in keeping with the continuity of his fictitious character Sam, from his Wolf album trilogy.
