According to Film Music Reporter the thriller, written by Gary Michael Shultz, follows a small town loner, played by Emile Hirsch, and a punk rocker, played by Zoë Kravitz, who fall in love but are followed by violence after they go on the run. Kid Cudi, who has starred in the series How to Make it in America and made appearances in the films Meadowland and Jason White, is also featured in the film.

This isn’t the first film score for Questlove. In 2014, Questo also scored Top Five starring Chris Rock and Rosario Dawson plus episodes of Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer.

Kravitz most recently starred in DOPE, Mad Max: Fury Road and the second installment of the Divergent series, Insurgent.

In addition to writing scores, Questo is also flexing his writing skills with the release of his third book, Somethingtofoodabout: Exploring Creativity With Innovative Chefs which will be released April 12. The book features Questlove as he speaks with chefs in a number of cities, including New York, Austin, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Portland and New Orleans. In addition to exploring the chefs’ creative processes, he discusses their personal histories and gleans their insights into food innovations.

“It’s a journey into the creative process of the craziest, most awe-inspiring chefs working today,” Questlove wrote about the book on Instagram. “It’s not a cookbook. You don’t have to be a foodie to get into it (I still shrug off foodie, I just love a good meal) all starts [with] the creative process. This goes deeper into it.”

Vincent N Roxxy will premiere at Tribeca Film Festival in New York City next month.
