Today we’ve seen Phife Dawg‘s music and legacy discussed non-stop, as the entire music world mourns the passing of a legend, and a key figure in Hip Hop’s progression through the years.
However, it’s important to note that Phife and A Tribe Called Quest‘s impact was felt by more than just lovers of rap music. From actor, director and film producer Michael Rapaport, who directed Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, to The Kennedy Center, who just named Q-Tip to an important curation position for their Hip Hop faction, ATCQ’s influence was as widespread as any in music.
Cue in Mark Arum and Fred Blankenship of Atlanta’s WSB-TV’s news, who brilliantly interpolated Phife Dawg’s lyrics into this morning’s traffic briefing.
