The Weeknd will no longer be performing with Rihanna on the ANTI world tour, as per a statement from Live Nation that simply states due to “unforeseen changes with upcoming projects,” Abel will “no longer be joining Rihanna on her international ANTI World Tour.”
According to a Billboard source, The Weeknd “has hit a stride on his new album and decided not to interrupt the process.” Rihanna is currently performing the North American leg of her tour, on which Travi$ Scott is the opening act, but Big Sean and Abel were set to join Rihanna once she began the overseas segment of the arena trek, which begins on June 17 in Amsterdam.
Recently, The Weeknd hinted at a new chapter–album, in Weeknd-speak–with a cryptic post on Twitter, and this news only adds fuel to rumors that we’re closer than expected to a new project from the two-time Grammy winner.
