Yesterday, a random and intriguing video of Katt Williams appearing to sucker-punch a teenager before being put in a chokehold by said teen and thrown to the ground surfaced, and naturally, the entire internet had questions. The brief video clip, uploaded by Fameolous, answered little to none of them, and once again we had little to no context of yet another bizarre Katt Williams altercation. (There have been so many in the last month, it’s hard to keep track.)

Today, thanks to a Daily Mail interview with the young man that countered Williams’ punch with a full nelson chokehold, we have an idea of the events surrounding yesterday’s clip. Apparently, Williams was in the school yard engaging in a game of soccer with some kids when he walked off the pitch and into a throng of teenagers. Though this TMZ story alleges that some of them were acting “aggressively” towards Williams, judging by full video, it’s plausible to believe that Katt was the antagonist in the situation, and seemed to be readying himself for a fight from the moment he got up off the ground at the 3:00 mark.

Luke Wash, the teen on the receiving end of Katt’s punch, seemed to credit both himself and Williams with the situation’s escalation, admitting that “we were both talking” during the soccer match. He did however, say that Williams “asked” to be hit, adding yet another confusing angle to an overall confusing story.
