CeeLo Green proved long ago not only can he deliver lighting fast lyrics as a rapper, but continually offer soul tracks just as powerfully. Although he hasn’t had a mega-hit since 2010’s “Fuck You,” Green consistently releases new material.

In 2015, he was featured on the Rick Ross song “Smile Mama, Smile,” and more recently was featured on the Kendrick Lamar Untitled Unmastered surprise release. On Monday [March 28] Green released the song “Sunday Shoes,” a tribute to the woman who raised and influenced him.

The song is a return to the style that was highly showcased in CeeLo’s album Lady Killer and is a soulful introspective with the artist reaching deep into the past for inspiration on the heartfelt track.

Green also released the video to the Barbershop 3 featured song “Working Class Heroes” just last week, that also features unreleased material from the upcoming film.
