Since July 2015, which is when we were originally expected to receive a new Frank Ocean album, has come and gone, speculation continues to rise. Outside of the MSG listening party, Ocean has been spotted on FaceTime with Rich The Kid, and on Instagram with his brother, but not in many other places. His close collaborator and co-writer, Malay, has an explanation for that. “I feel like he’s working harder than he’s ever worked in his life,” Malay tells Pitchfork, “I’m excited for everyone to hear it. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised, for sure.”

When will it arrive? “I always tell people: When he’s ready, the world is gonna get it. It could be tomorrow… well not tomorrow but maybe a month [laughs].”
