Iggy Azalea took a couple years off after her meteoric rise in 2014 to safely make her adjustment to fame and focus on her personal life (she’s engaged to be married to Lakers guard Nick Young). Though she recently admitted she reached a near-suicidal low point during her hiatus, due to heckling on both social media and from her colleagues, the Aussie native is back with a vengeance with her new single, “Team.”
In the video, directed by Fabien Montique, Iggy rounds up her squad in an effort to get back at someone that’s wronged her. It’s pretty safe to say the video is analagous to Iggy’s career right now, especially considering she’s she’s been wronged as recently as last week, when Nick Young’s teammate, D’Angelo Russell, leaked a video of Young detailing his infidelity. Iggy responded to the video by saying she “loved” Russell’s “film.” Safe to say she’s focused on her career right now, and the release of her new album, Digital Distortion, out this year.
