Earlier this year, champion boxer Manny Pacquiao made headlines after he made some anti-gay statements, thus leading to a media backlash and him being dropped by Nike as a brand endorser. Though he is no longer in business with the brand, the Filipino fighter still plans on wearing Nike in his next bout against rival Timothy Bradley.
Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach:
That’s what he’s used to and that’s what he likes… Why wear something you’re not comfortable with?
With that said, Pacquiao has been spotted wearing Under Armour on several occasions with the brand even sending him up to 22 pairs of sneakers, according to his trainer. For what it’s worth, Under Armour shot down rumors that they were in talks to sign him.
