Last month, the entire Hip Hop world–and then some–mourned the loss of one of the most innovative emcees to ever touch a mic, A Tribe Called Quest‘s Phife Dawg, Q-Tip‘s deft running mate and the originator of some of the smoothest, most in-pocket flows the rap game has ever seen. His sudden death certainly impacted Tip, who used his Apple Music Beats1 radio slot to honor Phife, who will best be remembered for his performances on songs like “Electric Relaxation,” “Find a Way,” and a countless slew of other classic records that have gone on to influence a wide range of artists from both his generation and subsequent ones, from Common to Mac Miller.

Tomorrow [Tuesday, April 5], at St. Albans Memorial park in Queens, NY, Phife’s hometown, A Tribe Called Quest will honor their fallen comrade. Though details on what exactly will be going down are currently scarce, the announcement promises something special for the first 200 fans that show up at 10:30 a.m. Anyone that can find a way to get down to St. Albans tomorrow morning certainly should. Billed as a “Celebration of Phife,” it’ll likely be a moment to remember in memory of someone we should all never forget.
