Subsequent to his departure from Versus Versace, a youthful offshoot of the iconic Versace italian label, Anthony Vaccarello is set to complete a creative direction stint at Saint Laurent. 36 year old Vaccarello, known for a rebellious, sexy aesthetic in the industry, has signed on to a tenure at one of the world’s most lauded and covetable labels and is now under the scrutiny of a crowd eager to see the outcome of his positioning. Hoping to make his mark on the couture house, the mastermind behind Versus Versace has staken his claim as the next heir apparent to the YSL name and with that title comes a pressure to create history in the making.

Saint Laurent, renowned for a completely luxury take on an edgy look in 2012 realized the Yves portion of its label title dissapear under the direction of Slimane. A business mastermind and revered designer, Slimane took the YSL reigns in 2012 and injected a flare that most could be realized in a collection of customized haute couture garments secretly showcased in Paris. Cara Delevigne dons the look in the latest and Slimane’s last Saint Laurent campaign.

Virtually doubling the sales of Versus Versace since 2014, Vacarello possesses creativity and is a business force. Adopting the popular of the moment “see now, buy now” ideal, his designed clothing could be bought as soon as they were shown on the runway. Going forward, it remains to be seen if Vacarello is able to duplicate his success at YSL. Fashion fans wait with baited breath as his first collection is likely now only being mentally devised.
