As the world continues to mourn the passing of A Tribe Called Quest emcee and rap pioneer Phife Dawg, more and more people are learning and better understanding the wide-ranging influence he had on not just rap music, but Hip Hop culture. From Kanye West to Wiz Khalifa, the late Queens native’s impact has been felt and acknowledged, and just a short while ago, some of Phife’s musical collaborators and offspring, like D’Angelo and Kanye West, gave moving speeches at his memorial, which is currently taking place at Harlem’s Apollo Theater.

Today, Beats1 Radio’s Ebro Darden debuted Phife’s posthumous new single, “Nutshell,” which is produced by J Dilla. We now have the music video to the cut, which is part classic Phife, who kicks sports references through the comfortable medium of his in-pocket flow, and part Phife tribute, as some Hip Hop VIP’s, from Q-Tip to Redman, make appearances to contribute kind words to a man that will never be forgotten.
