When it comes to golf, Jack Nicklaus has become synonymous with the sport, winning six Masters tournaments in his career, an all-time record. Earlier this week, the 76-year-old attended this year’s Masters tournament held at August National and was caught off guard. Filming his entry at the course, many people at the gate knew and recognized the much revered golf legend but as he arrived at the security gate, the guard did not recognize him and asked for his ID.

Upon reading the name on the ID, the security seemed embarrassed once he realized who Nicklaus was, quickly apologizing and ushering him along. Nicklaus was not at all angry, respecting the fact that the guard was doing his job. To put this into perspective, this would be if Michael Jordan was not recognized at a Chicago Bulls home game. Watch the clip below. Their encounter begins at the 1:30 mark.
