Multi-platinum selling, Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter Ashanti is now also a Guinness World Record holder for Fastest Selling Debut Artist (for a female). Her 2002 debut album Ashanti sold over 503,000 copies in its first week, with chart-topping hits “What’s Luv,” “Baby,” “Always On Time,” and the timeless classic, “Foolish.”
Since her debut, Ashanti has sold over 27 million albums worldwide making her one of the most successful solo female R&B acts in history. Celebrating its 14th year anniversary, the singer posted a picture of her debut album and expressed her gratitude for the support over the years with the caption:

Earlier this week, Ashanti took to Instagram to share her accomplishments with her one million followers by posting her Guinness World Record plaque, stating:
” Wow.. I can’t even put into words what this moment meant after three failed record deals before the age of 20 and 14 years later… “Literally” holding a Guinness World Record….”
