At the tail end of last season, the Portland Trail Blazers looked like they might be in rebuilding mode when 4 out of 5 of their starting lineup left town for other teams. LaMarcus Aldridge, Robin Lopez, Nicolas Batum, Wes Matthews changed uniforms, along with Arron Afflao. Damian Lillard, who is one of the premier players in the NBA seemed like his future might be bleak. Memes began to float around the web, as NBA fans ridiculed Lillard and the Trail Blazers.
When the current season kicked off, it was very apparent that the franchise would do just fine without their former players. They gave the Golden State Warriors one of their few loses back in January and sealed the deal last night after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder, clinching a playoff spot. Lillard still remembers the memes and jokes from last summer and wanted to make sure everyone knows it.
