Last week, the world said goodbye to the long-running reality singing competition that was American Idol. Over the past 15 years, Idol launched the careers of some of the most talented artists of their generation and on Thursday night, the show went out with quite the bang.
In addition to a reunion of all the past Idol greats for a few unforgettable performances, the series finale also revealed the winner of season 15. Among the two talents who battled it out down to the last show was 23-year-old McComb, Mississippi native La’Porsha Renae. Although the powerhouse vocalist didn’t walk away with the win in the end, her journey on the show’s final season was nothing short of amazing. Following the finale, it was revealed that the songstress is the newest member of the historic Motown Records family.
