A high school teacher has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly putting hands on a student last Friday [April 8].
Mary Hastings, the 63-year-old geometry teacher at Ozen High School in Beaumont, Texas was caught on film during her student altercation.

Information still hasn’t been released on what caused the attack, but after being hit five times by Hastings, the student asks, “Why you did that?”
“Because you’re stopping him from graduating, you idiot ass!” Hastings said.
The video was soon posted right after on Twitter and went viral. Hastings was later arrested and charged with one count of assault according to 12 News. She was then released on $2500 bond.
