The 1995 version of Jumanji was a huge hit, earning around $263 million. The adaptation of the 1981 Chris Van Allsburg children’s book starred Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan Grier, Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde, and Bebe Neuwirth.

In the story, siblings Peter and Judy (Dunst) explore an old mansion, where they discover a mysterious game called Jumanji in the attic. When they start playing, they free Alan Parish (Williams), who had been trapped in the game’s jungle-themed adventures for decades. The only way to free him for good is to win the game. It will be interesting to see how Sony adapts the story for Hart and Johnson.
