Boston beloved Tom Brady is repping another pretty strong Bostonian at the Boston Marathon today [April 18]. The Patriots QB took to Twitter and Facebook to share his support for Adrianne Haslet, a Boston Marathon Bombing victim running the marathon with a prosthetic leg.
Adrianne lost her leg three years ago in the terror attack, but she’s not letting that stop her from taking on the full 26.2 mile race this year. She’s setting out to show the world that “cowards” can’t win.
Adrianne met Brady a year after the attacks in 2014 and he clearly hasn’t forgotten: “Two years ago I was lucky enough to meet Adrianne Haslet, a survivor of the 2013 Marathon bombings. She’s on the course now, running the race for the first time — with a prosthetic leg. Adrianne thank you for being my inspiration!! #BostonStrong.”
Adrianne says, “I’m running for those who can’t run and those that are being attacked ruthlessly by these cowards and I’m really happy to be doing that.”
