On the new track he dropped via his Soundcloud, the Paterson, N.J. bred rapper reflects on his background and the tough ‘hood he was raised in.

The track starts off with the traditional Fetty Wap sound, but then quickly showcases that although he’s known for gangsta love songs, he’s still very much a Jersey bred rapper.

“Everyday the only mission, gotta stack the green/A couple million for my children, gotta get the cream/I turned a thousand to a million, started with a dream, hey.”

With at least two tracks in the works, “Queen of the Trap” and “Westside” featuring Snoop Dogg, which have since been removed from SoundCloud, it’s unclear if Fetty is dropping another project since his Zoo Style mixtape just dropped in February. What is clear is the 1738 rapper is definitely trying to keep the success of his debut going full steam.

In 2015, Fetty became the first act to simultaneously chart his first four charting singles in the top 10 of Hot Rap Songs. Fetty Wap’s self-titled debut album hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after its release last September.
