Yesterday [Tuesday, April 19] the MMA universe was shocked from a tweet by one of their most prized and beloved fighters. Irishman Conor McGregor announced he’s retiring from the octagon. This comes as a surprise since many fight fans were anticipating his highly touted rematch with Nick Diaz at UFC 200, which is supposed to be happening in July.

UFC President Dana White went to the media to announce McGregor has been pulled from the marquee card because he refused to come to Las Vegas this week to promote the fight. White went on to say this about the fighter and his decision: “Obviously we still have a good relationship with Conor. I respect Conor as a fighter and I like him as a person. But you can’t decide not to show up to these things. You have to do it. ”
