Coming into their opening round playoff series with the Miami Heat, the Charlotte Hornets were given a decent shot at actually beating the Miami Heat. Both teams won 45 games this season, and the Hornets offensive depth, from newly acquired guard Nicolas Batum, who’d had a career year during the regular season, to vague 6th Man of the Year candidate Jeremy Lin, was expected to seriously test the rigid Heat D.
That hasn’t happened through the first two games, and Miami will take a 2-0 lead into the first Charlotte swing of the series, which kicks off with Game 3 on Saturday. Part of the reason for that is things like the following video clip, in which the Hornets–again, generally a solid offensive team–missed eight layups on one freaking possession. ONE. A guy pretty familiar with layups and the benefit to making them, Michael Jordan, won’t be happy about his team’s inability to get the job done today, so in honor of that, we have his freaked out face as the featured image for this post.
