If you’re reading this, Birdman, Birdman’s interview, and several other things Birdman interview-related are dominating the Trending Topics list on Twitter, and for good reason. This morning, the Cash Money Records founder departed from his Breakfast Club interview a mere minutes after his arrival, displeased with pushback from Charlamagne Tha God after demanding all three of the show’s hosts “put some respect” on his name.
Unfortunately for Birdman, the true reason for his press run has been lost in the viral memes and video spoofs he’s accidentally generated, but he made sure to remind fans of what’s really going on.
Earlier this year, Baby announced a new album, Ms Gladys–a dedication to his mother–and the return of new Rich Gang music, though the actual composition of this edition of the Rich Gang crew remains up in the air. Today on Instagram, he revealed the official release date of his solo album to be June 24. It will be Birdman’s first proper studio release since 2009’s Priceless, which helped usher Young Money’s then rookies, Drake and Nicki Minaj, into the mainstream spotlight.
“And we gon’ be alright if we put Drake on every hook.” Remember that line from Lil Wayne on Priceless‘ “Money to Blow?” Weezy probably had no idea just how right he was.
