“I’m not negotiating bond conditions with Mr. Randle,” the judge declared on Friday [April 22]. “He is not calling the plays here.”

According to the Dallas Morning News, Randle, who was released from the Cowboys last year, faces charges of aggravated battery, criminal damage, possession of marijuana, theft, speeding and failing to appear in court.

The ex-cowboy’s attorney asked a judge in Sedgwick County, Kanas to change the circumstances that Randle would have to bear if he posted bail and was released.

Reports state that Sedgwick County District Judge Kevin O’Conner previously agreed Randle could be released to the NFL for transport to an inpatient mental health facility for at least 30 days of treatment if he posted a $45,000 bond. However, Randle’s attorney requested he’d be released to family instead since the NFL had become concerned about “liability.”

The judge denied the request claiming, “It’s not my job to satisfy corporate lawyers.”

“If he is going to take advantage of this program, he is going to be released to the NFL Players Association or NFL security,” the judge added. “This is because of his behavior, not anybody else’s.”

The Dallas Morning News reports, Randle was still ailed as of yesterday [Saturday, April 23] afternoon.
