Rapper Tru Life returned home from prison this morning (April 26) after serving five years of an eight year sentence. Real name Roberto Guzmán Rosado Jr, the rapper spent time behind bars in connection with a fatal 2011 stabbing. In videos first leaked via ItsBizkit, Tru Life is elated to be back home and even jokes about being unsure if he would receive the proper gear prior to release.
Tru Life first gained notoriety during the mid-2000s after releasing and appearing on several mixtapes and DVDs. His biggest claim to fame is being signed to Jay Z’s short-lived Roc La Familia imprint. The Lower East Side native was also embroiled in well publicized feuds with Jim Jones and Dipset as well as Mobb Deep, which was chronicled in the first Beef DVD.
