Today [Tuesday, April 26] marks the third annual national college signing day. First Lady Michelle Obama kicked off the national day honoring higher education in New York City’s Harlem Armory. Four thousand high school students showed up to officially select the college they want to attend. Rocking a Princeton t-shirt, the First Lady clearly displayed school spirit for her undergraduate alma mater.
Lala & Carmelo Anthony, Tracee Ellis Ross and Shonda Rhimes were just a few of the people who showed support for National College Signing Day both in the flesh and also via social media. The event is a part of the initiative created by FLOTUS called Reach Higher. Also in attendance were AJ Calloway, Elle Varner, Diggy Simmons, Yara Shahidi, Common, and Chef Roble. MTV hosted a live-stream of the event on their website, as well.
