Drake Steals Adele’s Throne And Breaks UK Streaming Records Dnala May 1, 2016 Hip Hop News | Trending Hip Hop Stories Drake has been dominating headlines since the release of Views this past week. After gaining his first number one with “One Dance” (a remake of the Crazy Counsinz funky house hit) the Canadian rapper has now broken Adele‘s record for most single streams in a week in the UK. Adele, who’s currently on a world tour, previously held the record of receiving 7.32 million streams in a week for her single “Hello.” She’s now been dethroned by the rapper who claimed the top spot with 7.8 million streams in seven days, according to Chart News. In less than a week since its release, Views has already sold over 600,00 copies on iTunes in its first 24 hours, as well as “One Dance” grabbing the number one spot on the Canadian Billboard Hot 100. This has overtaken Drake’s first week sales of If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late and Nothing Was The Same. At the official album listening party for Views on April 30, Drake acknowledged his milestone (below). “I got a text messages saying we sold like 600k + copies” Drake to his city of Toronto last night! #VIEWS is getting mixed feelings, what’s your thoughts is it drakes best or his worst?
