Beloved “first couple” of rock-n-roll, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, are sadly splitting up after 33 years of marriage. The news broke yesterday [Saturday, May 7] and shocked countless fans around the world.
Sharon met Ozzy in the late ’70s, as Black Sabbath was gaining momentum, and soon after became his official manager. The couple wed on July 4, 1982 and had three children— Aimee, 32, Kelly, 31, and Jack, 30.
Sources told E! Entertainment News the couple has agreed Ozzy will temporarily move out. The split reportedly has nothing to do with his sobriety. After relapsing in 2012 and 2013, the musician has remained clean for the last three-plus years. There is speculation, however, Ozzy may have cheated with a 45 year old hair stylist.
While both of the Osbournes continue to maintain lucrative careers individually— Ozzy recently toured with a reunited Black Sabbath and Sharon is a co-host on The Talk—it’s almost expected they’d eventually fall apart. Ozzy and Sharon have been battling divorce rumors for years.
The Osbourne family (with the exception of daughter Aimee) became a huge part of mainstream pop culture during their time on MTV’s reality show, The Osbournes. Last year, VH1 announced a reboot of The Osbournes that was later scrapped.
