It all began on April 29, the night his album was released, when the entire world tuned into Apple Music to hear the Toronto rapper’s first studio album since 2013. A reported 250 million people did just that in less than a week, a figure that translated to nearly 200,000 in sales, giving Drake the first million-plus first week performance of his career. The following week, with another 200,000 in traditional sales, Views went platinum the “old” way–sans streaming numbers–which was also the fastest a Drake album has ever gone platinum off pure sales. In the midst of all that, Drake’s “One Dance” went #1, another Drake first, and he announced appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Ellen and Saturday Night Live. Superstar status.

Today he’s racked up another accomplishment, and there are surely more on the way. With about 200,000 equivalent units moved in his second week, Drake has topped the Billboard 200 yet again, squeaking past Beyonce‘s Lemonade, which comes in at #2 having moved about 202,000 units in its third week. Views is the fourth consecutive Drake studio album to top the charts, and his 6th consecutive project to take the chart’s #1 spot.
