StubHub and the Philadelphia 76ers have struck up a deal that will make the Sixers the first of any of the teams that play the four major U.S. sports to sell ads on their jerseys. According to sources, the 76ers franchise has agreed to a 3-year, $15 million dollar deal to promote the ticket reselling franchise on their uniforms. The 2.5 x 2.5 logo patch will make its debut on the team’s jersey in the beginning of the 2017-2018 NBA regular season.
We are about being first, being different, being innovative and getting to market at quickly as we can. We’re thrilled that the NBA has decided to be an innovator among the major sports leagues in this country, we’re happy that we will be the beneficiaries, and we know that being first here will drive value for our partner.
With this new innovative franchise-to-franchise partnership trend, expect large companies such as TicketMaster and other non-protected market power players to reel in a lot of money into their bank accounts.
