The Life of Pablo rapper, Kanye West, is being sued for copyright infringement.
The song in question was off of West’s sixth studio album, Yeezus. According to the lawsuit filed by composer Gabor Pressor, West “knowingly and intentionally misappropriated one of Pressor’s songs for “New Slaves” without a signed licensed agreement.
Apparently, the song sample’s a Hungary favorite, “Gyongyha ju Lany,” composed by Pressor in 1969. The suit, however, claims the Hungarian composer was not made aware until the song dropped for promotion of the album.
In addition, Pressor claims that he has not been reimbursed for the use of the sample over the last two years besides a $10,000 advance check.
