From Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston to Aaliyah, Lifetime TV has been pumping out the biopics. This time, ’90s singer Michel’le, known for her high-pitched voice, is getting her own biopic titled, The Michel’le Story.
The biopic highlights the singer’s life and career, specifically how she was discovered by N.W.A.’s Eazy E, her tenure on Ruthless Records, her embattled decade-long relationship with Dr. Dre, and marriage to Suge Knight.
According to Deadline, “Lincoln Heights” and “That’s So Raven” actress Rhyon Nicole Brown plays the “Something In My Heart” singer.
Dr. Dre is portrayed by actor Curtis Hamilton while R. Marcos Taylor, who starred as music executive Knight in Straight Outta Compton, reprises his role in The Michel’le Story. A premiere date for The Michel’le Story has not been set, but pre-production begins in June.
