Coming to national attention through his early demo Rock On, appearing on Bias B’s debut album Beezwax and shortly afterwards on Trem’s classic second 12-inch Amateurs EP, his legendary status as one of the best to ever do it in Oz was, is and probably always will be undeniable.

Shortly thereafter the Amateurs EP feature saw the formation of the iconic Hip Hop group Lyrical Commission, where Brad Strut joined forces with Trem, Bob Balans and DJ J-Red, releasing their initial collaboration with Cross Bred Mongrels on Culture of Kings – Volume 1Lyrical Mongrels’. The group would go onto produce two landmark releases in The Stage is Set and Murderous Metaphors, placing them forever in the upper echelons of Hip Hop royalty to emerge from Down Under.

Strut himself has a career of classic releases: The Authentic LP, Legendary: The Official Mixtape, Legend: Official, Fallout Shelter and Rejuvination are all timeless works. “A Good Thing” (from Strut’s first LP) appeared on DJ Numark’s (of Jurassic 5) mix CD Hand’s On in 2004, further gaining him international exposure. Strut has recently been busy featuring on an array of Australian artist’s tracks including Trem, K21, Grand Lodge III, Maundz, Kings Konekted, Fraksha, Chasm, Tornts and Clandestien among others.

Strut himself has described his music as deep dark, a kind of authentic blood red honest account, becoming growingly aware of the way in which the world operates beyond a fairy tale and rooted in reality and his music reflects this. His sound has progressed over time making his catalogue of music a large part of a soundtrack to a generation of Hip Hop fans growing up in Australia.

Strut has worked with the international likes of Q-Unique, Taskforce, Celph Titled, Lil Angryman (UK), OuterSpace, Sean Price (RIP) as well as others. He has shared the stage with Immortal Technique, OC of DITC, Non Phixion, R.A. The Rugged Man, Cali Agents, Klashnekoff, Hilltop Hoods, Celph Titled, Apathy, Kool Keith, The Roots, People Under The Stairs and more. Having played 100+ shows including major festivals throughout Australia and toured nationally in his own right, as well as international Hip Hop festivals, his stage performance as a solo emcee or with Lyrical Commission contributes significantly to his legacy as one of Australia’s most well rounded emcees, and has a highly accessible sound to many Hip Hop fans worldwide.
