After being arrested in 2014, Jace told police:

“I was just angry. All I intended to do was shoot her in the leg. And then I shot her in the leg and that was it. I just ruined lives. Four lives. I mean, you could put the needle in my arm right now and be done. I’m fine with that.”

The couple’s 10-year-old son testified saying that he overheard Michael to his mother that she should “run to heaven,” later shooting her three times. In the transcripts, Jace claims that his wife lunged at him, which is when he began to fight back. According to Jace’s attorney Jamon Hicks, his client believed that his wife was having an affair. If convicted, Jace faces 50 years to life in prison.
