We’re going into the sixth week of “Marathon Monday” releases from The Marathon Ambassador himself, Nipsey Hussle.
Aside from the more established Young Thug, each Marathon Monday release has featured some of Hip Hop’s best up and coming talent such as Young Dolph, G Perico, Bino and Buddy. Such an approach to his Marathon Monday campaign makes us wonder if Nipsey’s Victory Lap will be a project with no features at all.
Yesterday [May 30, 2016] Nipsey kept good on his promise for yet another release and dropped “Status Symbol 2” featuring Buddy. This song is a sequel to his Mailbox Money anthem, “Status Symbol” which first introduced us to Buddy. The two are back at it again with Buddy’s mellow vibes balancing the hardcore essence of Nipsey’s delivery.
“Status Symbol 2” gives game on the do’s and dont’s of a true man with status and the characteristics that will get you respected, in addition to what will gain you no respect whatsoever. There is still no word on an official release date for the Victory Lap album, but fortunately we have yet to be disappointed with the Marathon Monday series.
