Lil Yachty has teamed up with Rich the Kid once again to drop the video for their single “Fresh Off the Boat”.
In the two minute clip directed by YungMik3 and Benny Flash, Yachty a.k.a. Lil Boat puts some literal meaning to his name, as he and Rich rap and count cash on a boat deck. Adding to the video are visuals emphasizing graphics, with doodles and images appearing and then disappearing throughout the teaser.
“Fresh off the Boat” first dropped back in February and rumors soon followed that a joint mixtape from the two rappers was on the way. In an interview with Fader, Rich the Kid spoke about his respect for Yachty and how the two linked up for the track. “I respect his grind and everything he’s doing, so I wanted to work. He and I hit the studio with Soulja Boy and went to work—shuffling through beats and this was one we both knew we could go crazy on.”
Since the initial collaboration, the two have dropped “We Got It” and “Phone Tap Freestyle,” fueling the rumor the two are working on a mixtape.
Yachty, whose growing list of collaborative projects include Makonnen, Soulja Boy and Lil B, is reportedly crafting free releases with the aforementioned artists; while Rich the Kid just dropped his Trap Talk mixtape in April.
