Following the commotion from T.I.’s Irving Plaza Concert in New York City last week, the danger of gun violence in correlation with Hip Hop has been a popular topic for discussion and reflection. Furthermore, June is Gun Violence Awareness Month and VH1 has initiated a “Wear Orange” campaign in honor of such a cause.

T.I. is undoubtedly supporting the “Wear Orange” campaign as he has witnessed and endured the deaths of close friends, Hip Hop influentials, and of course, the late Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin. T.I. took to Instagram to announce his support of the campaign and how others can get involved.

According to VH1, “On an average day, more than 90 Americans are shot and killed by guns. There is no single solution that will end gun violence so we have to work together to create a safer future for everyone.”

Supporters are encouraged to wear orange and share a photo using the #WearOrange hashtag to bring awareness to the campaign. In addition to T.I., other celebrities who are taking a stand against gun violence include Angel Brinks, Perez Hilton, Kimberly Elise and Tami Roman to name a few.
