Earlier this year, IndieWire reported there are plans in the works for an all-female remake of Ocean’s 11, with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock at the forefront.
IndieWire reported Bullock will be starring in the main role, and Gary Ross, the director of such films as Seabiscuit and The Hunger Games, will be the director for the remake of the popular franchise.
Yesterday [Thursday, June 9], Comingsoon.net reported Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter are joining the cast for the remake. They also confirmed that Jennifer Lawrence will not be able to join the cast due to her busy schedule.
Bullock will be reportedly playing Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister, with Blanchett playing the trusty sidekick role that Brad Pitt once played. With such a loaded cast, and more roles still to be filled, this movie seems to be a blockbuster in the making. Filming is set to begin this fall.
